The First Christmas

Luke 2:8-14 KJV

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, good will toward men.

The Perfect Gift

It started with a stable,

And a baby placed in straw

Wrapped in swaddling clothes,

He was the greatest gift of all

He was sent to save a fallen world

That had shattered into pieces

This priceless, precious, promised gift

Was the Messiah we call Jesus

He had to come as He came to

Be who He was

He had to live as He lived

To do what He does

He lives and He gives the love

That was and is

To us, from God, with love,

The Perfect Gift

This gift will hold its value,

It’s a treasure meant to keep.

Can’t have too much of it,

It’s the love we all need.

It’s the Christ in Christmas,

The Truth you won’t forget.

When we give His gift of love,

The more we give, the more we get

He’s the gift that keeps on giving

And will stand the test of time

He outshines the rarest gem

And is truly one of a kind
