HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAYCHARLIE! THREE GENERATIONS OF ADKINS...Charlie Adkins celebrated his 90th Birthday at Charlie’s Pickin’ and Grinnin’, Monday, May 5th. Charlie is pictured with his son, Kevin Adkins of Berea, and Kevin’s daughter Kristy Basham, who visited from Pennsylvania. Charlie’s other son, Brian had just left the evening’s festivities of music, food and fellowship, and he is not pictured. Come out to Charlie’s on Monday evenings at 7.

Brenda Blanton age 78, passed away suddenly on October 16, 2025 while visiting family in Tennessee. Brenda is the daughter of the late Clinton and Juanita Rector Osborne, she was a faithful member of the Berea Evangelistic Church, where she served as Secretary and Treasurer of the church. Brenda was also retired from Berea College Development office, where she was an Administrative Assistant. Brenda graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1964, and received her Associates Degree from Midway College. Brenda enjoyed any sport that her grandchildren were playing, and she very much enjoyed reading a good book. Brenda was also preceded in death by a grandson Ayden Blanton.

Brenda is survived by her children: Eddie (Robin) Blanton, Barry (Mary) Blanton, Stanley (Michelle) Blanton, and Christina (Jonathan) Beasley, her siblings: Patty (Harry) Isaacs, Paul (Teresa) Osborne, Jeff (Sherry) Osborne, and Bobby Clinton Matteson, her grandchildren: Rachelle (Josh) Ater, Trent Blanton, Cody Blanton, Caitlyn (Dillon) Campbell, Savanna Blanton, Alyssa Blanton, Jameson Smith, Ace Beasley, and Kamden Beasley, her great-grandchildren: Elijah Ater, Tristan Ater, Emma Blanton, Everett Blanton, Chloe Campbell, and Sammy Campbell. Brenda is also survived by many nieces, nephews and good friends.

Funeral services will be Friday evening at 7 pm at the Berea Evangelistic Church with Bro. Jeff Osborne officiating. Private burial will be Saturday in the Saylor Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-7 pm at Berea Evangelistic Church. In lieu of flowers donation in memory of Brenda are suggested to: World Missions to Asia PO Box 890634 Oklahoma City, OK 73189. Lakes Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
